About Mandy Mounteer

Mandy Mounteer has been a musician her entire life due to her musical family. Some of her favorite memories as a child are those moments when the family gathered around the piano to sing. As a child she was driven to learn all she could. Her mother taught her the basics and was then left to learn and apply what she was given on her own. As a result she considers herself a self-taught pianist who to this day is ever learning and improving. She has played the piano since age 5 and the flute since the 5th grade. Since her mother couldn't help her with the flute, all of her formal lessons came through the study of the flute.

Prior to teaching Let's Play Music she taught private piano lessons for several years at a Private Music Conservatory. Her years there were invaluable to developing her love of teaching piano. However, she always felt that something was missing. Lessons at the conservatory were an amazing experience for some children and a difficult experience for others.

In spring of 2009 when a friend introduced Miss Mandy to the Let's Play Music curriculum, she quickly did the research and couldn't wait to learn more about it. She applied to be a teacher and was accepted. During her trainings that summer, Mandy remembers as they taught the principles behind how a child learns and how best to teach them as a profoundly moving experience. That missing element from her experience at the piano conservatory had been found. And she's more in love with the curriculum and methodology than ever before.

Mandy and her husband live in Sandy Utah. They have 3 children. Two darling little girls and a handsome little boy. Her oldest child was in her 1st graduating class of Let's Play Music students. And her 2 youngest have attended music classes since in utero!

She loves to sing and laugh and is grateful that she can share her passion of music with children. She has taught the curriculum since 2009
